Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day with The Big Sit! Join ASCM’s effort to identify as many bird species as possible by sight or sound while staying within a 17-foot diameter circle. We’ll also be undertaking some friendly competition with the Frederick Bird Club (at our Audrey Carroll Sanctuary) to see the most species. The winning team earns the coveted Golden Falcon trophy.
With raptor migration peaking, this is a great chance to see flyovers, learn from expert birders, practice your identification skills, and gather data for science!

Help ASCM retain the Golden Falcon trophy! Participants are asked to sign up for two-hour shifts between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. The rain date is Sunday, October 12; please indicate if you are available for any potential rain date shifts.
Bring a chair, a drink, binoculars, and a scope if you have one. Light snacks will be available. See you there!
