Monarch Butterfly Walk and Tagging!

  • Audrey Carroll Audubon Sanctuary 13030 Old Annapolis Road Mount Airy, MD, 21771 United States (map)

ASCM will host a Monarch Butterfly Walk, a Bob Schaefer Nature Walk Series, at the Audrey Carroll Audubon Sanctuary. September’s walk is an opportunity for people of all ages to see monarch butterflies up close as we tag individual butterflies to help scientists who seek to learn more about this butterfly’s extraordinary migration and conservation status.

You can read up on these amazing migrators by visiting the Monarch Watch website.

Bring your curiosity and your kids!

Meet at 9 a.m. at the entry gate to the sanctuary at 13030 Old Annapolis Road (just east of Detrick Road) in Mt. Airy. Limited rest room facilities are available. The walk will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.
