Saturday, January 9 to 11 a.m. A Bob Schaefer Nature Walk at the Audrey Carroll Audubon Sanctuary near Mt. Airy will be sponsored by the Audubon Society of Central Maryland. Come out and see how the birds are using the habitat of the sanctuary to survive the cold winter. Some of our birds, such as Cardinals and Mockingbirds, stay at the sanctuary all year, but other birds, such as White-throated Sparrows, are present only in winter.
People of all ages are welcome. Meet at 9 a.m. at the entry gate to the sanctuary at 13030 Old Annapolis Road (just east of Detrick Road) in Mt. Airy. Limited rest room facilities are available. The walk will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather or deep snow.
