Audubon Society of Central Maryland The ASCM holds a Native Plant Sale on the last Saturday in April each year. 2010 marks our twelfth year! Over these years, the Native Plant Sale has grown in scope and popularity, becoming a "Don't Miss It" event among local gardeners, and an important fund raiser for our Audubon Chapter. The sale is held on the last Saturday in April, Saturday, April 24th in 2010. Opening time is 9:00am. The sale ends at 2:00pm The Native Plant Sale is held at the Audrey Carroll Audubon Sanctuary, just West of Mount Airy, MD, at 13030 Old Annapolis Road. (Click here for a map and contact info.) The sanctuary grounds are open for public access during the sale, and we encourage you to take the opportunity to explore our network of walking trails. Our Native Plant Sale provides a unique selection of fresh, healthy plant stock that not only comes from local suppliers, but is natively suited to weather and soil conditions unique to our area. You can see a list of our 2010 offerings here. Along with the wide variety of plants, we make available expert advice on the planting and care requirements of the plants we sell (and those we don't), on habitat creation using native plants, and on many other related areas of interest. We typically have Master Gardeners from both Carroll and Frederick counties available for cousultation on the sale day, and make a range of reference and informational materials available to our customers. And did we mention that profits from our Native Plant Sale help to provide the critical funding needed for our ongoing programs of environmental education and habitat preservation in our local area? Well, it's an extremely important point, and worth mentioning again! Please check our News page in late Winter/early Spring each year for details on our Native Plant Sale, along with information on other ASCM programs and activities. To be added to our mailing list, you can call 301-831-5060 or 410-795-6546, or click here to send us an email. We truly appreciate your support! |
